National news: federal court strikes down NFA registration for suppressors & SBRs
You're going to see this headline everywhere, so here's what actually happened: a federal judge in Texas struck down the National Firearms Act's registration requirements for suppressors and short-barreled rifles — a major case backed by Gun Owners of America — and the administration has reportedly directed the Department of Justice not to appeal, letting the ruling stand. Why it matters for us: this does NOT change California law. Suppressors and short-barreled rifles are still illegal to possess in California, and every TGX transfer still goes through a licensed California FFL with a background check and the 10-day waiting period. Federal headlines don't change state rules. We're posting it because it's the biggest national gun-world story of September, and we'd rather you hear it here with the California context attached than get surprised by a headline on your feed.
